On CCTV footage, the youngster's feet can be seen spinning around in the dryer for more than a minute, as the pair desperately try to free the child.
Staff from the launderette in the US eventually manage to stop the machine and release the toddler.
Video of the prank backfiring was posted on YouTube by a user identified as PrincessZebra, who reported that the child suffered minor injuries but was safe and well.
